Year 5!!!!!
01/01/2009 – 12:00 am

Like, ZOMG Sea Slugs! Anime Blog is now half a decade old. Take a free second to ponder that thought. Ender had a busy year and pretty much fell off the face of the Earth after summer due to work and classes every day. Kungfucius made a comeback this year with some steady blogging of Soul Eater. I cut back on many of the features and concentrated mostly on straight up episodic blogging. I know everyone loves features and editorials, but episodic posts are hella fast. I’ve gotten the process down to where I can consistently watch, cap, and blog an episode in about 45 minutes.
In lieu of any updates, I’ll just make this a state of the union type post. We’re still going strong and I still love what I do. Even when times got busy or series got crappy we kept on posting, and I personally have yet to feel any hint of burnout. I’m very proud of the fact that SS!AB has never gone on a real hiatus, and it’s pretty amazing to see comments from readers who have been with us for many many years. Thanks to all the readers and fellow bloggers out there who make this process so much fun, and I look forward to cranking out more groan-worthy puns for years to come.
Manga Time

So… I started another site. Everything is still under construction, though.
I’ll be out of town through the end of the weekend, but I’m looking forward to updating both SS!AB and MM when I get back.
Kannagi Review

Considering that Kannagi looked like a silly wooden version of Akikan! at first, it was a pleasant surprise to find that the series was less about harems and fanservice and more about good-natured comedy. I was attracted to the character designs right away, and I was pleased to find that the art quality remained fairly high throughout the entire season.

Yozakura Quartet Review
12/28/2008 – 12:00 am
Nothing like finishing two crappy anime series in the same month, and Yozakura Quartet was just as bad, if not worse, than Birdy the Mighty Decode. You’d never know it from reading the manga, but Yozakura Quartet is just a meandering mess that feels like one long filler arc in a bad, long shounen series.
